The New Squad 53

The new Squad 53 has been approved and a contract has been signed with Ferrara. The projected date of the arrival of the new squad is set for sometime in December. The squad will have an 8 man crew cab with a 12 inch raised roof. The cab will be made of 3/16" aluminum. Emergency lights will be Whelen 600 series Super LED. There will be a 24 inch extended front bumper. Under the front bumper will be 2 chrome tow hooks. There will be rope tie offs built for the truck as well. The engine will be a 330 Turbo Cummins with an Allison Transmission. With a top speed of 68-70 MPH. Sirens will include a power call and a Federal Q siren. There will be automatic On Spot tire chains. The box will have roll up doors with coffin boxes on top. There will be placed in the wheel wells of the truck 4 spare bottle containers on each side. There will be mounted on the truck a 25KW PTO Onan generator. There will be 2 240V cord reels. There will be 6 1500W scene lights with 3 500W brow lights. There will also be 4 1500W portable scene lights. The measurements of the truck will be H- 9'7" L-31'8". The new squad will be used for lighting, manpower, fire support and fire support equipment, and RIT.
